New destinations are in the race for the top spot. Nominations for the TOURISE Awards 2027 are now open, inviting cities, regions and sites from around the world to enter into one of tourism's newest awards. Destinations have until 19 November 2026 to enter.
The second edition of the TOURISE Awards will feature six destination categories, spotlighting the key experiences that are shaping the way we travel today: Food & Culinary; Arts & Culture; Adventure; Shopping; Entertainment and Wellness. Alongside them, the Best Overall Destination trophy recognises the jewel in the crown of visitor economies.
While the vote will be cast by the public, TOURISE Awards are not merely a popularity poll. Entrants in all categories should be putting their hand up if they offer accessible, exceptional, memorable experiences that reflect a distinct sense of place and have the support of an effective tourism authority or government agency. Any destination is welcome to participate for free, with a single valid nomination for a destination sufficient for inclusion.
The independent jury of 10 international travel, hospitality, culture, fashion and creative-industry figures will choose the overall winner. The line-up includes former Condé Nast Managing Director Albert Read; former Tate Modern director Lars Nittve; former Michelin Guides Global Director Michael Ellis; former British Fashion Council CEO Caroline Rush; and wellness expert Andrew Gibson.
The awards pipeline will see the shortlist unveiled on 7 January 2027, with the finalist destinations revealed on 28 February. Winners will be announced at the TOURISE Awards ceremony in Riyadh on 23 March 2027, where the new names in destination tourism will be unveiled.
