Riyadh is set to welcome more to its burgeoning gaming and digital entertainment ecosystem, with Roblox announcing it will open its regional headquarters in the Saudi capital, expanding its reach in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The new regional hub will focus on education, creator development and gaming opportunities, building on Roblox’s partnership with Savvy Games Group to advance Saudi game developers and creators.
The move has the backing of the Ministry of Investment, Riyadh Creative District and the General Authority of Media Regulation, further enhancing Riyadh’s status as a hotbed for the region’s creative and gaming industries. And it is not just one new regional headquarters being created. As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 gaming strategy, the Saudi ambition is to host 250 gaming and esports companies and 39,000 jobs in the sector by 2030.
With 120 million players engaging with Roblox every day, its entrance into Riyadh is set to be a further boost to a region with an emerging gaming scene.
